Age UK Northumberland

Age UK Northumberland is an independent charity but is a member of Age UK. We are one of the largest Age UKs in the country and have been in existence for over 50 years, beginning as the Old People’s Welfare Committee.

Formerly known as Age Concern Northumberland we are now known as Age UK Northumberland following the merger of Age Concern and Help the Aged.

We aim to improve the lives and opportunities for older people by offering products and services to people over the age of 50; offering a mixture of free and paid-for services; campaigning on issues affecting older people.

We work in partnership with other agencies to improve the lives of older people and we consult with older people and other organisations to ensure we meet the needs of older people.

Age UK Northumberland’s mission is to: “promote the well-being of people over the age of 50 in and around the County of Northumberland, helping to make life enjoyable and fulfilling.”

The services we offer include: Home Care; Day Services, Rural Access Project; Information & Advice; Advocacy; Welfare Rights; Friendship Line; Health & Wellbeing; Community Dementia Service; Training; Trading; Volunteering Opportunities.
