St Barnabas Hospice

ST BARNABAS HOSPICE is a charity whose aim is to provide high quality specialist palliative care both within the hospice and in the comfort of patients’ homes treating adults with cancer and motor neurone disease. The hospice provides a 15-bed in-patient unit, a purpose-built day care centre, a specially trained community palliative care team and a bereavement service for relatives.

St Barnabas needs to raise £4.25million to cover its annual operational running costs. Only about 15 per cent of St Barnabas’ annual running costs are state funded. This means that 85p out of every pound spent by the hospice has to be raised through voluntary donations from Worthing, Adur and Arun.

Patients are never charged for their care at St Barnabas and the hospice depends on the generosity of the public, local organisations, its network of Friends Groups and fundraising events and activities to help raise the balance needed to maintain the high standard of care and comfort in the local community.
