The Snowdonia Society

Snowdonia National Park is visited by up to 9 million visitors a year and is home to over 26000 residents. As a National Park it is an area set-aside for the nation to ‘recreate’ themselves, to get away from the pressures of everyday life and, to benefit from a variety of activities – the first British climbers to tackle Everest trained in the mountains of Snowdonia! It is an area set aside to conserve the unique landscape and the flora and fauna within it.

The Snowdonia Society is an active charity that believes the area’s protection is too important to be left only to the government. With over 2500 members the Society aims to protect and enhance Snowdonia for present and future generations.
