Vision Support, a Regional Charity established in 1876, is recognised as the leading provider of local support and services to people living with a visual impairment in Cheshire and North Wales.
With more than 150 staff and volunteers, our mission is to promote the continuing independence of individuals with sight loss living within our local communities and to raise awareness of their needs.
We hold an annual event day which comprises exhibitions, demonstrations, opportunities, products, services and activities available to enhance the quality of life of those with sight loss.
We have a number of Resource Centres across the region each demonstrating and selling specialist equipment to help with daily living and providing a range of information on our services and other services available locally and nationally.
We also operate Mobile Information Units which visit local communities making it easier to access information and our services.
Our professionally qualified Rehabilitation Workers focus on maintaining independence and promoting equality for anyone with sight loss and are supported by a team of Rehabilitation Assistants who demonstrate specialist equipment and support services users in the home.
We have a dedicated team of Home Visitors who provide a befriending service to assist individuals with daily tasks such as reading mail and sorting household bills.
We deliver computer training courses designed specifically for people of all ages with a visual impairment. This service has increased the confidence and independence of service users and, in some cases, has enabled a return to work.
Our Team of Volunteers help to facilitate a wide range of social activities including book clubs, gardening, art and craft, bowling and walking.
