Join this fantastic cycling challenge in Burma (Myanmar) – South East Asia’s best kept secret! Cycling for 360km from the glistening temples of Yangon to Burma’s cultural capital of Mandalay, we will take in some of the highlights of this stunning country, which is only just re-opening its doors to tourists. Highlights of this challenge include the magnificent archaeological site of Bagan where over 2,000 temples can be found! We also explore the last royal capital, Mandalay, where we can visit the ancient monastery, the palace and much more. This charity challenge is ideal for those looking to trail blaze! Cycling is the perfect way for us to discover the real Burma, untouched by tourism.
Day 1 – Depart the UK for flight to Yangon.
Day 2 – Land Yangon and transfer to hotel. Time to relax and refresh before some sightseeing.
Day 3 – Catch internal flight to Bagan. Warm up cycle around Bagan. Cycling distance – approx. 50km
Day 4 – Bagan to Popa. Cycling distance – approx. 70km
Day 5 – Popa to Myingyan. Cycling distance – approx. 80km
Day 6 – Myingyan to Mandalay. Cycling distance – approx. 100km
Day 7 – Mandalay to Mingun. Boat ride down the Ayerwaddy River. Cycling distance – approx. 60km
Day 8 – Internal flight from Mandalay to Yangon. Onward flight to UK
Day 9 – Arrive UK.
