Children’s Hospice Challenge

21 February, 2013 | News

In June 2007, for the first time ever in fundraising history, an overseas challenge was held exclusively for the Children’s Hospice movement. Thirty two participants representing ten children’s hospices, trekked to the summit of Mount Toubkal in Morocco – each one supporting their local children’s hospice. The trek was so successful that we decided to hold another overseas Children’s Hospice Challenge in November 2008 – this time, a trek in the Sahara Desert.

Glowing from the success of the Sahara in 2008, the third Children’s Hospice Challenge travelled to Jordan in 2010 – an amazing thirty seven participants completed the trek representing over ten children’s hospice services. For 2012, the Children’s Hospice Challenge travelled to Spain to tackle the Three Peaks, and in 2013 we are travelling to the Alps to conquer the Mont Blanc Massif!

Just like previous Children’s Hospice Challenges, the event will be organised and administered by us.

The aim of this challenge is to bring together Children’s Hospices throughout the UK, of which there are over thirty. Wouldn’t it be great if we could unite and show the importance of this essential community service?

This charity challenge will bring together like-minded people who are passionate about making a difference to the life-limited children and their families within the local community.

Are you one of those people? If you want to take part in a unique fundraising event to raise money for your local children’s hospice then get involved with Trek the Alps 2013!
