MEGAHIKE
The MEGAHIKE trekking challenge is back for 2012! In 2011 over 50 teams took on the challenge of trying to complete and beat the 50 mile trek route in 24 hours. The 2011 event was a huge success, raising in excess of £85,000 for MedEquip4Kids. The 2012 event is going to be even bigger with over 80 teams who are hungry for a real challenge whilst pledging to make a real difference to the lives of children across the North of England.
What is the MEGAHIKE Challenge? Its simple – to complete the challenge your team of 4 trekkers have 24 hours to complete the 50 mile route. But if you want to beat MEGAHIKE your team will need to beat the sun and complete the 50 mile route before the sun sets (17 – 18 hours).

Your Itinerary
(Optional) Day 1 – We meet at the MEGAHIKE base camp for event registration, and then prepare to set off on our trekking challenge at sunrise tomorrow (about 4:30am!)
Day 2/3 – starting at 4:30am, all teams are off to conquer the monster 50 miles route within 24 hours! Will your team beat the sun and make it back to base camp before the sun sets? The trek route is breathtaking as we take in some of the best section of the famous Pennine Way.
Once all teams have crossed the finish line, hot food is served and medals are awarded. It’s then time for farewell and goodbyes.
