There are some 8.7 million deaf and hard of hearing people in the UK. One in every thousand people is born profoundly deaf and one in three of the over 60′s experiences some hearing loss. It is important to remember that each person with a hearing loss is an individual and will approach the loss of all or part of their hearing in a different way. deafPLUS provides a range of services to address these diverse needs.

We are a national charity whose aim is to advance the equality and integration of deaf and hearing people through our Mobile Advisory Service (taking information and equipment out on the road), individual advice and advocacy, information and training. At least 50% of our own staff, trustees and volunteers are themselves deaf and we support those with all levels of hearing loss along with their families, friends and colleagues.
