“To enable people with a visual impairment to gain independence and minimise the effects of reduced vision.”

We were founded in 1867 to “support and protect the interests of Visually Impaired people across Lancashire”. Over more than 130 years the variety of services provided has developed and we now support over 6000 people.

To maintain our present level of support, we need to raise over £500,000 each year, but as people are living longer, so more and more are experiencing some form of reduced vision. We expect that the number of people needing our help will increase by about 10% each year.
