PROUD TO BE THE LONGEST SERVING CHARITY CHALLENGE OPERATOR ON THE ZAMBEZI Charity challenges just don’t get much more extreme than this! Water sport enthusiasts consider The Zambezi one of the BIGGEST white-water rivers in the …
If you’re looking to raise money for a cause that’s near and dear to your heart – then why not do so by white water rafting for charity?
Those in search of a high-octane thrill-fest will find that there are few activities more suitable. White-water rafting is indisputably rip-roaring good fun – and all the more so when the water is as white as can be. But, leaving to one side the tremendous excitement that can be had on the water, our white-water rafting trips also represent an unforgettable opportunity to take in the sights, sounds and smells of the natural world. There are few places where this is more the case than on the waters of the legendary Zambezi.
It’s with some pride that we inform people that we’re the longest-serving operator on the Zambezi – the fourth largest river in Africa, and the mightiest when it comes to white-water rafting. If you’re looking for rafting challenges, then accept no substitutes – this is the pinnacle, and we’re perfectly placed to take you there.
There are few more remarkable places to commence a white-water rafting experience than beneath the roaring spectacle of the Victoria Falls. From there, the backdrop gets no less impressive – you’ll travel through some of the most stunning scenery that the continent has to offer – though you might be too concerned with the river around you to take it in.
If we tell you that the rapids included in this trip have names like ‘the mother’, ‘the stairway to heaven’ and, most dauntingly, ‘oblivion’, we’ll perhaps give you an inkling of the sort of white-knuckle experience to expect. Suffice to say, this trip is one to get the heart racing. After all, participants will be throwing yourself at the mercy of nature, and nature will place considerable physical and mental demands on them!
But while you’re experiencing the thrill of the river, you can be assured that you’re in the safest possible hands. We have experience of the Zambezi that stretches back to 2006, and during that time, we have maintained high levels of safety. We are unique on the Zambezi in that we use a cataraft as a safety boat, and use special floatation devices in order to keep our participant’s legs above the water – which aids buoyancy, as well as improving safety. But our most effective safety feature is without doubt our staff of highly experienced guides. Their knowledge and skill will equip you to conquer the mighty river in style and safety. If you choose to participate on a white-water rafting event, then you can do so with confidence with Global Adventure Challenges.
We set off at the times of the year where the Zambezi is at its best – between August and November. The waters in the Bakota Gorge beneath Victoria Falls are at their lowest – and the drops therefore at their steepest. The sun will be shining, the water will be roaring, and the river will be calling those brave enough to conquer it. Are you up to the challenge?
